- Infos Flash :
- After having admired superb sites, with animations and sounds in all the directions, I decided tried experiment. All these sites use the extraordinary possibilities of the Flash software.
- I thus got a version of demonstration of the software Flash, of Macromedia (the price frightened me !), and I bought a good book : The Large Book Flash 5, of Micro Application.
- When I started to read this book, when I launched this software, I was a little afraid : the options and the parameters are innumerable (I counted 24 panels, as they call them !). But the exercises detailed in the book very interesting and are well explained.
- The result (au 01/23/2001) :
- My first Flash page, if you have FlashPlayer installed on your computer (I did not make that to take the advice lavished by the book of Micro Application !).
- The result is not very spectacular, but I think of having understood the first pages of Flash philosophy. Maintaining to pass to more artistic things, it is necessary that I have a good graphic software (Photoshop style...).

- A personal domaine name ? It should be bought ? and why not, but it was only during December 2000. The AFNIC (which manages the domain names in France) had launched a large pub campaign. I tested, and, after found a waiter which wanted to put up me well free (at least the first year), I installed my site, at moooa !
- Then, I am owner of the domain name pasquier.nom.fr, and I have 10 possibilities of domain names of the style joel.pasquier.nom.fr.
If you will make a turn on pasquier.nom.fr, you will see that there are 2 sites perso : mine (joel.pasquier.nom.fr) and that of Elodie (elodie.pasquier.nom.fr, which has just a standard banner page). All the family can belong to the Band, it is enough to pass an e-mail to me, and I create an adress e-amil and a personal name of domain (and a password).
On pasquier.nom.fr, you will see also a bond towards an album. Seek the explanations, and you will see that one can put all the family at it, since several generations (50 000 photographs I believe...). And this album is accessible only to the registered members.
- All is explained on the site of my shelterer Populis.com. Excavate well and you will see that there are possible heaps of options.
My perso site (http://j.pasquier.free.fr) at Free always exists because I am wary of the offers too much enticing. At Populis.com all is free the first year, and the maintenance of the domain name, for the following year, is approximately 50 Euros. But from here 2002, many things can change !!!
At the beginning of 2002, I renewed my contribution for the lodging of my site at Populis.com. Result : 49 Euros for one year.
I acknowledge that I can be only satisfied with the provided services and the stability of their waiters.

November 2006 :I cannot update my site any more !
Site ftp of Populis.com is not accessible any more, but my site is always consultable.
After research on Internet, it seems that the Populis company does not answer any more, whether it is by mail, mall or telephone.
The contribution for the property of my domain name, and for the lodging of my site, expiring at the end of December 2006, I launched a call the Help | towards the AFNIC, which could only advise me to seek another shelterer (a register!) who could recover all the parameters of operation of my field.
After nearly two months of waiting, and thanks to the assistance of the AFNIC, the company OVH.com could start again the operation of my field and my site.
The tariff (approximately 70 Euros for the management of the field and the lodging of the site) is not prohibitory, taking into account the possibilities offered by OVH (I chose formula 300GP).
But I always preserve my site perso at Free, by safety!

But did you notice the small logo on top on right of this page (and also on all the other pages) ?
It is about an Internet service provider, Xiti.com, which measures all that occurs on my site !!!
It enters, each day, all the visits and identifies the origin, by country, of each visitor. It records the number of visited pages; It determines the arrival of each visit : direct access or thanks to a search engine, and it identifies the required engine and words. And many other things still.
The quality and the precision of the results are remarkable, and all this free !!! (but Xiti is financed by analyzing professional sites, and it list is impressive).
