The Poitou
Sporting and instructive walks.

The circuits do not miss, letting appear monuments and landscapes !

Village poitevin That one chose to stay in one of four capitals of the region or that one decides for the green tourism by renting a shleter, a main mode of residence with the campsite, it's possible every day to concoct a small tourist circuit. In car or better, in bicycle the summer, the circuits don't miss, letting appear monuments and landscapes. A way of discovering the region and of stopping in the good places.

There's naturally the historic circuits, highlighting the architectural patrimony of the region. One'll quote the historic road of the treasures of Saintonge which walks along the most prestigious nineteen monuments of the old province of Aunis and of Saintonge, between Rochefort and Saintes.

One'll also go through the historic road of Kings of England, or road of Plantagenêt which connect Thouars's citadel with the castle of Coudray-Salbart in Niort, by ways of Parthenay's ramparts and Bressuire's castle.

One can discover Height-Poitou by following the road of abbeys and monuments, from Poitiers or by leaving four roads, the road Duguesclin, the road Charlemagne, the road of Mélusine and the road Jean-le-Bon. The roads of Saint-Jacques de Compostelle will guide the guests of Saint-Hilaire-le-Grand in Poitiers until Compostelle, by discivering Saintes, Parthenay, Charroux and Angoulême.
