The Genestoise 2011

- Three circuits VTT of 26 km (accessible to all), 36 km (sporting course) and 46 km (uneven 600 meters).
These circuits pass in the cellars (to envisage a front lighting!)
- Three circuits goes marked out of 8 km, 12 km and 16 km, with the Ambigariens Hikers.
Inscriptions as from 7:45 (in the village hall).
Free departures of 8:00 to 9:00.
Tariffs:
3 euros for the bachelors VTT and the walkers, 2 euros for less than 16 years and 5 euros for the others.

The DEE (File of Engagements of the State) was published the 11/25/2009.
The Procedure of Authorization of Clearing is now launched. Saint Genest is not concerned officially because no wooded piece of a surface upper than 1 hectare is established on the layout.
On the section Genest Saint - Scorbé Clervaux, several zones were located and are subjected to protection measures.

50 years of CO Saint Genest

The CO Saint Genest celebrated its 50 years of official engagement in the league of football.
The true beginning of the practice of football at St Genest goes up with more than 50 years, at the time of the arrival of
refugees, during the war of 39/45, who while playing entrainé the guy of the corner.
After an interruption in end and after the war, an impassioned teacher of round balloon, Mr. Pasquet, made the promotion of this sport near all the young people of the commune. To motivate its young people, he employed a frightening technique: their choice was either to play, or to rub the handrail with abrasive cloth!!!
This animation was practically the only one at the time in the commune, and a very important popular support developed. The first year, the team took scraped on scraped, thus a red lantern, painted at the school, was often deposited behind the goals of St Genest.
The displacements were done in the bus STAO, some times in the truck of Fernand Mit, and who remembers it, accompanied by Simca "Chatelaine".
The clothes of the players was a black shirt with a V in yellow and yellow shorts. The team was accompanied by Madelons, these Queens of the Sports, elected every year. First Madelons were Evelyne Montagault, Colette Moreau and Pierrette Pineau.
The football field was with the site of the current training ground, whose first cloakroom was the recovery of American hutments of Saint Ustres. Of course, the refreshment bar well also functioned because it was not rare to have more than 100 paying spectators. The drinks were been useful by voluntary the very devoted ones such as Henri Pineau, Roger Godineau and Yves Brothier.
Then, at the time of this 50 years day of the Club, all the guests could exchanged many anecdotes and to remind all the people who unfortunately left us.

Twinning Volmerange les Mines - Saint Genest d'Ambière

Saint Genest d'Ambière had accomodated
Volmerangeois during the Second World war. The footballers perpetuated the memory thanks to their biennial exchanges. The appointment of Easter 2006 was the occasion to seal a new protocol of friendship.
Remember you of which had the formidable idea to organize Sunday of Pentecost 1958, in Saint Genest, a first meeting with return the following year.
Thanks to Emile Reiland, Maurice Thile, Marcel Lorentz, Marc Pasquet, Willy Bakes and Bruno Balestra.
The two communes of Volmerange les Mines and Saint Genest d'Ambière had meditated on a possible twinning for several years: time passes, the generations change, the modern world saw differently, the motivation seems essoufler. In order to avoid the lapse of memory, it was necessary to react, give a new dash.
It is what the two committees of twinning will endeavour to make, helped by many associations, which they are sporting, cultural or different.

- The village constitutes an excellent ground for the associative life, the sports and cultural activities everything, here, predisposes to the meeting : the celebration of the bonds of friendship with Volmerange-les-Mines, in the East, and Lipiany, municipality of Poland, with which the exchanges multiplied. All this life is a lesson of reception and tolerance which contributes to create links between natives of the country and newcomers.
The village is famous for a famous fair (organized for the Ascension Day)which puts in star the spring liliacee which one cultivates under the name of asparagus.
The holiday in mussels, with Best regards Lipiany (municipality of Pologne) takes place last Sunday of July.
The sports route of the Ambigarienne take place last Sunday of June.
The Luciole (cross Mountain Bike in night) takes place last Sunday of August.-
The evening theater in Puygareau's castle is programmed every beginning of September.
